Setting up Google ReaderThis is a featured page

The idea is that you will find it easier to track what is going on in the course by using Google reader rather than manually visiting the course website looking for updates.

To do this, you have to tell Google reader where to find the information that feeds into the course website.

Here's how you do it
  • Download onto your computer the course feed
You can do this by "right clicking" on the course feed link. You will save a file called eded11448.opml onto your computer.
  • Login to your Google Reader account
  • Click on the "Settings" link
This should be at the very top right of the page.
  • Click on the "Import/Export" link
  • Select and upload the OPML file you downloaded onto your computer in the first step.
  • You should see 6 subscriptions - Discussions, Learning Space, Podcast, Portfolios, Resources and Weblogs
  • Click on the "Back to Google Reader" link
  • You should now see those 6 subscriptions show up in the left hand menu of your reader page.
  • Click on the "eded11448-creativefuturing" folder

For someone who has never used Google Reader before, I found the instructions difficult to follow. I'm still not sure if I have set it up correctly.
Do you find this valuable?
